you know you're cutting edge tech when
you go out for coffee and you're planning out the Next Big Thing, furiously brainstorming
and you've still got the last vestiges of this nasty head cold...
and you sneeze...
and grab the closest thing...
and suddenly a sinking feeling comes over you when you realize that you've just blown your nose on the business plan.

Sometimes your relationship with the Arrowhead Man gets a little out of control, and one day you wake up and realize you've got 11 huge blue bottles in your living room. I've never quite reached that low, but I haven't been drinking as fast as he's been delivering...





1.4.2003

I spent the holidays with Mike and his family in Indiana. It was a wonderful visit. Evansville airport (EVV) is simply charming - the waiting area at the gate has rocking chairs.

Our flight was horrendously early - departing before dawn, on a tiny toy commuter jet. Our seats were on the east-facing side of the plane, and so we watched the last sunrise of 2002 from the air. A few minutes after daybreak, we were still in awe from the peaceful beauty of it all when a beam of rainbow quietly appeared:

Despite what they're saying on CNN, I think maybe 2003 will be a pretty good year.
